Namibia's Environmental Management Act comes into force

On the 6 February 2012 the Government Gazette of the Republic of Namibia brought into operation the Environmental Management Act, 2007 (Act No. 7 of 2007). The Gazette lists activities which may not be undertaken without Environmental Clearance Certificate as well as setting out the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations.
The Act provides a much-needed level of environmental protection in Namibia.
